MS. MICHELE RAYMOND: Mr. Speaker, I beg leave to introduce a petition signed by some 67 citizens of Nova Scotia. The operative clause reads:
“Because:
Nova Scotia is a relatively isolated body of land
There are better markets for non GE then (sic) GE crops
The safety of and oversight of these crops is questionable
The undersigned request that Nova Scotia be made a Genetically Engineered plant free zone.”
Mr. Speaker, I, too, have affixed my signature to this petition.

MS. MICHELE RAYMOND: Mr. Speaker, I beg leave to table a petition on behalf of friends and relatives of those living in the Northhills Nursing Home in Annapolis Royal. There are 33 signatures on this petition and the operative clause reads:
“We, the undersigned, strongly urge the government to increase the amount of the comfort allowance for residents who have exhausted their assets under the old system to bring it into line with current costs of living.”

MICHELE RAYMOND: Mr. Speaker, I beg leave to table a petition on behalf of my constituents, to which I have affixed my signature, requesting that “High-level managers of the various government agencies which have legislative authority for the Northwest Arm and the Halifax Harbour, establish a mechanism to coordinate their mandates and respond collectively to public requests and activities. The Oakland Road wharf be reserved for public use. Legislation introduced to prohibit infilling in the Northwest Arm.” Mr. Speaker, I will table this.
